Presentation of the DESTA 20 vacuum distillation plant

The DESTA 20 is a vacuum distillation plant that can make a major contribution to
improving your degreasing processes. It may be combined with all degreasing plant
manufactured by established manufacturers and by extracting the entrained oil
continuously. The adjustment of just a few parameters can set up a DESTA 20
specifically for solvents such as perchlorethylene (PERC), trichlorethylene (TRIC),
HC solvents and modified alcohols.

The benefits to you:

  • Maximum possible surface cleanliness
  • Constant performance from first to last washing cycle
  • Reduction in the acidification of the solvent
  • Reduced stabilizer consumption
  • Less wear on the degreasing plant
  • Abolition of the cleaning of the vapour generator in the degreasing plant
  • Automatic filling and emptying of the DESTA 20
  • No cleaning work on the DESTA 20
  • The residual solvent content in the residue (used oil) is less than 1 %
  • Up to 27 litres oil yield daily
  • Reduction/abolition of disposal costs for the used oil
  • Reuse of the oil in the machines
  • Increase in the throughput of the existing degreasing plant

The benefits to you in detail:

Quality assurance in surface technology and parts cleaning

The highest achievement in metal degreasing and parts cleaning is the creation of absolutely oilfree surfaces on the parts to be cleaned. Only in this way is subsequent, problem-free further
processing (such as galvanizing or hardening) guaranteed.

This can only be achieved if the oil content in the solvent used in the metal degreasing unit is
always kept as low as possible.

The DESTA 20 makes this possible thanks to continuous regeneration of the solvent while the
degreasing plant is in operation. The DESTA 20 runs fully automatically and does not need to be
filled, emptied or cleaned. The DESTA 20 is connected by way of the internal vapour generator in the degreasing unit to optimize its performance.

Preserving the solvent and the degreasing plant

The higher the oil content in the solvent in the internal vapour generator in the degreasing plant, the hotter this must be heated to allow it to achieve the cleaning performance desired.
These elevated temperatures always involve the risk of overheating which goes with acidification of the solvent. Once the acidification process has been initiated it propagates itself in a chain reaction and can only be stopped by a stabilizer.

Since a DESTA 20 keeps the oil content in the solvent in the degreasing plant's internal vapour
generator to a minimum, it is possible to work at optimum temperatures. Corrosion damage to
the metal degreasing plant, which might have arisen from acidification, can thus be prevented.

Monetary benefits of the DESTA 20 supplementation

The DESTA 20's principle of protective distillation allows the solvent a long life span; complete
solvent excahnges become the exception and the high costs of waste disposal are avoided. The
rapidly rising costs of raw materials and their increasing scarcity mean that it is in the interests of every company to avoid the unnecessary purchase of solvents.

Under optimal conditions, such as the homogeneity of the entrained oil, the 'used oil' can be reused in the machinery after a thorough analysis. This is possible because the temperatures in the distillation process are only low and so the quality of the oil is not impaired.

If different grades of oil are entrained, and so re-use in the machines is not possible, disposal
costs can be considerably reduced by distilling them out. Many used oil disposal companies will
accept this residue at no cost.

Keeping the oil concentration in the degreasing plants' internal vapour generators low can
prevent overheating and thus the acidification of the solvent. This means significant savings in
stabilizer.

In addition, expensive maintenance work on the degreasing plant can be reduced thanks to the
possible reduction in corrosion damage.

We would be pleased to go through your very own savings with you.

Increasing the performance of the metal degreasing plant

A DESTA 20 operates externally and independently of the metal degreasing plant. It is only
connected to your cleaning system through the solvent delivery and return line. This means that
it is also possible to use the DESTA 20 when the washing plant is shut down. Thereby, cleaning
baths could be completely regenerated, e.g. at the weekend or overnight, before the start of the
next shift.

The degreasing plant can only operate at its optimum under good conditions that are provided by the connection to a DESTA 20. Cycle times of the degreasing plant could be reduced and hence productivity increased.

However old, every degreasing plant should have its DESTA 20

Good washing performance can be achieved again by an older metal degreasing plant and costly
shut-down periods be considerably reduced by connecting a DESTA 20.

Even modern metal degreasing plants, which are already equipped with an internal solvent
vapour generator, are enhanced by a DESTA 20. The DESTA 20 continuously reconditions the
solvent, whereas the internal solvent vapour generator can only be fully effective if loading of the metal degreasing plant is switched off. Only a DESTA 20 makes continuous three-shift operation possible.

Get to know the benefits --- no risk to you, take a loan plant

Convince yourself of the many benefits of a DESTA 20 at no risk at all. Simply rent one of our loan plants for a few weeks and test it yourself under your on-site production conditions. You will quickly notice that the use of one of these vacuum stills is perceptible in the quality of the parts to be washed and even dealing with your entrained oil is child's play for our distillation plants.

Operational requirements for a DESTA 20

All you need to run one of these plants is a 440V connection, and a connection to a cooling circuit and compressed air. A suitable cooling unit can be supplied in the event that no cooling water system is available.
